Strictly speaking this is all taking place in the next parish, but once upon a time this would have happened in every parish and farm growing cider apples and pears for perry.
This press is run by Tony Gimley of Silveys garage in Saul and belongs to Pineapple Pete or Stonies Dad. The press itself dates back to the 18 hundreds and has been responsible for a few thousand gallons of cider making.
The making couldn't be easier, if not a little hard work, as Tony believes in as little interference with nature as possible.
The juice is squeezed out and collected, no sugar is added and its left to work its magic till February /March. Until then its all a mystery.
