Our area has long been known for its fruit growing with its mild climate and rich river silt soil and the yearly flooding that would bring new fertility to the ground, so its not surprising that the district boasts some handsome and ancient trees. From the willows to the fruit trees we are in deed lucky to have such fine specimens. This photos are but a few taken in their winter glory. I find their majesty and presence worthy of poetry but I am no poet so I have tried to evoke feeling in the photos. If you know of other ancient trees or orchard get in touch so I can add them to the collection.
