Flooding - Local Action Prompt commonsense actions (getting sandbags where they are needed, marking flooded or closed roads clearly) can prevent damage to property and some of the more immediate inconvenience of flooding. We can’t assume that the flood in July of this year was a “one off” event, so we are putting what we learned to practical use now – before it happens again. This time, Roger Godwin, our Parish Flood Warden, acted decisively and acquired supplies of sand and sandbags at Yew Tree Farm in Longney, but his greatest difficulty was to get this and other information out to residents of the Parish fast enough. This is why we are asking for your contact details Longney and Epney Parish Council, November 2007.
